The holder of this diploma is an electrician or air conditioning engineer specialising in the installation of equipment using renewable energies to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. The energies mainly concerned by option B "thermal energy" are: solar thermal energy, biomass (in particular wood energy, wood and pellet boilers), air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps.
This technician is capable of identifying the customer's needs, checking the feasibility of the installation dimensioned by the design office, distributing activities within a small team and interfacing with other trades, installing the equipment, connecting the installation to the networks, making the necessary adjustments and tests and commissioning the installation, presenting the operation and use of the installation to the customer, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on the installation.
Site preparation: research technical information, make the site safe and identify any risks and pollution, check the conformity of the supports, plan the tasks taking into account the interventions of other trades and the company's workload plan.
Completion of an installation: use the means of protection, respect the safety devices, , sort and dispose of the waste, check the conformity of the work carried out with regard to the work requested.
Adjustment and commissioning: carry out adjustments and tests, commission the installation, prepare for acceptance of the completed installation.
Maintenance: carry out a maintenance operation, check the adequacy of the performance obtained in relation to the expected performance.
